I could not even look at myself in the mirror.

Their was a time in my life when I let the negative words of one individual drag me down to the extent that I felt useless, unloved and lost my self esteem  and confidence so much so that  that one day I threw away all the mirrors in my house and only had one small mirror in the bathroom..

I just could not bare to look at myself in the mirror as each time I did, I could hear the words in my ear “ you are not good, you are worthless and no one will ever love you.”

Things changed one day whilst I was driving I was stuck in traffic and just in front of me a few yards on the left I saw some large mirrors outside a shop. All of a sudden, I felt an urge to get one.  I just parked the car and went over and got a long full mirror. I had this kind off excitement bubbling inside me, that I could not understand. I remember going home, putting the mirror  outside my  bedroom and I just kept looking at my reflection and was overcome by smiles and inner joy.

From that day on, I would wake up each morning, look at myself in the mirror, smile, and say “ I am unique special, and will no  longer let the negative words of one individual  drag me down.”  We have to  learn to  embrace, accept and love ourselves, along with all our flaws and imperfections.

I came across this Powerful new Serena Williams ad for Nike  and this inspired me when she says : “I’ve never been the right kind of woman. Oversized and overconfident. Too mean if I don’t smile. Too black for my tennis whites. Too motivated for motherhood. But I am proving, time and time again, there’s no wrong way to be a woman.

Hope you have a good day. Remember you are unique,  special and destined for greatness. Be confident, Be happy and always find a reason to smile,

Confidence to achieve your goals in 2016

Wishing you all a happier 2016 a year you take action and work towards achieving your goals.

As you set your goals for the new year remember the words of Michelle Obama “One of the lessons that I grew up with was to always stay true to yourself and never let what somebody else says distract you from your goals. And so when I hear about negative and false attacks, I really don’t invest any energy in them, because I know who I am. “

Some tips on how to plan to achieve your goals

•Work to develop your inner peace and joy, and then all of the outer things will follow

•Spend some quiet time to think, write down and visualize the kind of life you would like to experience..

•Develop a strong belief and passion that you will achieve your goals with time, dedication and Passion

•Write down a daily mantra “ Yes I will achieve my goals in 2016”

•Prioritise and work on one thing you want to achieve at a given time.

•Set yourself timescales to complete things

•Get yourself someone who can work with you to help you achieve your goals

•Stay focus on what you want to achieve and don’t let people, things or situations distract you.

•Follow through your ideas and avoid procrastination.

•Do not over commit your time, money, resources and energy on things that will not help you achieve your goals.

•Take time out in the morning and night to be still and focus on you having all the resources you need to achieve your goals.

•Obstacles and challenges will come your way, but see them as opportunities to learn and grow.

•Make sure you plan your schedule so that you can have a good work life balance

•As people help you to fulfill your dreams, remember to help others too.

Be grateful, appreciate and celebrate all you have achieved so far

Workshop to boost Children’s Confidence

The aim of my workshop is to equip and empower children from an early age with the tools they need to grow up to be confident adults so that they can cope with life’s challenges and be the best version of themselves. The workshop involves creating a Gift of Confidence tool box which has special items they can refer to when they go back home and these will help them to sustain their confidence and happiness level. Having too young children myself, and having been bullied when I was in school, I understand the importance of developing  our Self Esteem and Confidence.

The workshops are customised to suit all ages of children and its  fun, creative and engaging!
